Analysis of 2 title sequences

TITLE SEQUENCES

The Addams Family

The title sequence style is still images this gives the audience hints of the genre and themes of the film.At the beginning we were introduced to some carolers this informed us that the film is taking place over Christmas then the soundtrack fades into the iconic 'Addams Family theme song' after we meet the the family on the roof. From this shot a coldrone is being tipped over and the words 'The Addams Family' fall out telling us the name of the film and to give off the effect that its falling on the carol singers.
There's a plain black smoky screen with agency FB and something similar to comic sans and chiller text. this gives a spooky feel to the film which helps set the tone and introduce hints the genre+other themes to the audience.

Romeo+Juliet
The title sequence style is moving image. This used narratives this was presented as a news report with a woman at the beginning briefly informing us the tragedy and then as we get closer and in to the TV we have another narrative which is a male talking about the family and how and why the tragedy has taken place then we have a really loud and jumpy soundtrack to symbolize and reflect the anger and hatred between the characters the emphasizes the seriousness of the tragedy and the images.
moving image title sequences use metaphors and one of them that occurs a  lot through the clip is the statue of Jesus that separates the building of Capulet and Montague  this statue is seen later in the film when Tybalt dies and in other seems this symbolizes the peace that romeo and Juliet have found but also contradicts with the civil feud. There are a lot of references to cross sign this is shown at the end we see a cross or plus sign in between romeo and Juliet this could be the cross and their civil blood spilled from both their families to show their bond and what their family has caused between them.
