Q4. Who would be the audience for your media product?

Q1. In what ways does your media products use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Conventional title sequence order.

Our title credit order isn't conventional making the final product look like a short film instead of a title sequence.

The title started looking like a short film because the title credits wasn't on the actual film.

The product name is shown twice and they both look different the times they have been shown.

planning and production

Planning out the title sequence was a long journey because as a group we had to think of the storyline of the title and then plan it on a storyboard in detail of what each shot should or would look like.

Doing the storyboard was hard this particular scene was difficult and we made a lot of changes to it. we went from a conversation in a room to in a cafe to finding out that we were not allowed any form of speech so we had to change it to a scene were the main character was having a conversation with the antagonise. This benefited our titles as it made the storyline clear and easy to understand amongst our audience.

Our initial idea was to use real production companies and this was mentioned in our pitch and on our rough titles but at the end we ended up making them up because we felt that the production and distribution companies we picked were more relatable for our audience.

Editing was kinda of hard because I had to learn from the beginning how to edit and organise the shots in a way it can convey what we're trying to say to the audience. in the end we got there and we were able to explore new ways of going back to flashback and that's how we came up with the idea of reversing to the beginning.
Editing was one of the skills I learnt during this process for me i found it hard because I had to learn from scratch where some people in my group knew how to edit already another skill I Learnt was the soundtrack. It allowed me to explore new sounds and find a relevant sound for the scene.

Director, Soundtrack and Editing Interviews

feed back of deception final rough cut

Michella's feedback on the rough cut
Michella wasn't asking for sound as it would help set the scene
The camera at the beginning was shaky
Why was there fade in and out?  jump cuts
Flashback not clear
Fix gaps and renders
Flashback of gravestone and then start in past.

Feedback Evidence

Evidence of Editing/Changes to be made

changes to scenes

Our Initial idea was to use a house however owing to everyone in the group having a free house or room we were forced to change the scene to a cafe

However we found out that the scene couldn't be used because there's talking and title sequences ideally don't have speech in them.

So we had to change our ideas to the main character messaging the supposed guy she's meant to be meeting

On the titles, because the credits will be on the gravestones, we want to make the background of the titles dark and dull by using sepia and discreet colours with echo effects to create an eerie and fatal atmosphere.

Target audience

As it's a youth drama it's only right for the target audience to be the same age group as me.
The core audience will be my age group of 16+ this is because it'll be easier for them to identify with the storyline. It makes it easier for titles to convey the storyline as i know what my age group would like to see.
The wider audience would be 13-15 as the storyline also promotes internet safety and around that age more teens are using social media and are taught awareness of the internet and cyber bullying.

Evaluation

No titles at the beginning of the titles and the shots are a bit slow and need speeding up

There are a few gaps in shots and jumps more transitions and fade ins outs need to be added.

The same for this scene there are few jumps and it doesn't flow as freely as it should making it look a bit jumpy. However some of the jumpy shots do add affect to the scene of mystery and uncertainty

How I used creative commons to add soundtrack

The site we used was creative commons.
Firstly: Type creative commons into your search bar and  the page you searched should look like this

Secondly: Click onto your preferred site to get your soundtrack from in our case it was sound cloud

Thirdly: Type in any song you want to find a remix of in our case it was frank ocean

Finally: Search a song of your choice and play any remixed version

The reason for this is because we aren't allowed to use any song due to copyright laws so we find ways around it by using remixed versions that have no copyright laws.
