Editing: Use of shot reverse shot and mid shots used in the third scene with the principle and one of the leading male roles, mid close up used in the same scene and then scene where he's at the door and when other social groups are being introduced. Mid close ups and close ups are used for each character. throughout the trailer there was the use of sound bridge binding all scenes together
Sound: The use of sound bridge and a continuous dialogue through the film and other background noises this is a main feature of a moving image title sequence. The beginning of the scene we hear rebellious music to reflect the character of the main leading role.
M.E.S: The road at the beginning scene of students in the film making their way to "high school" the camera zooms into the main leading girl role (Julia Stiles) in a red missed match coloured car wearing a black hoodie this reflects her uncaring character, in the second scene we see hockey players wearing rolling blades playing at school entrance through the entrance. The third scene is with the principle and second leading male role in the principle office by looking at the clothing of the boy we see that the social group he would associate with would be the nerds and geeks. as he leaves the room we are shown the main leading male role played by (Heath Ledger) who is dressed in a blueish, greyish muscle T-shirt telling us that he's the token bad boy. back to the nerdy geeky boy in the hall way we see that the person showing him around he is also a fellow nerd just proving our assumptions. We see other social groups in the sixth scene one of them is the skaters and then we are introduced the sister of the main leading female role and just by looking at what she's dressed which is a white dress and a red cardigan on top we assume that she's quite popular we later find out that she is.

summarise how to create sound tracks in Garageband(Q.19)
1. You open garage band.
2. Choose a name for your piece, then put the tempo, signiture and key settings on default, if not you could change them to your liking.
3. Then hit CREATE! You would start with a blank garange band project.
4. click on the eye shape button ( view loop) on the button left. This button enables you to pick an instrument of your choice and add loops to create your piece.
5. Time for the fun part creating your piece! Lets start with a beat a good instrument for this would be a drum. Have more than one instrument playing in a polyhonice manner and use different harmomies, if you want to have an instrument play solo all you have to do is space them apart from eachother.
6. Last but not least save and ENJOY! :)

Sub-genre conventions - Plots, story lines, characters and social groups in teen drama films
Sub-Genre convention: A sub-genre convention is a subdivision of a genre. For example, a romantic comedy.
There is a main formula that follows within this sub-genre; a vulnerable character that has the leading role, the joker who is always trying to make other laugh, the "dumb blonde", often part of the cheerleaders also known as the popular girls, A black character, the not so popular character, often sensible, kind-hearted, and uses their brain to get them out of danger, sometimes lucky enough to survive the whole film, and the outcast, who often feels left out and lonely.
Comedy has elements of comedy making the audience laugh in one scene but frightened in another. Scary Movie does a great job at this aspect. The plot is similar to horror as they have a character who is often sensible, calm and collected whereas the other would be the polo opposite; wild, crazy and hectic.
An example of a sub-genre convention in a teen drama is horror; Scary Movie for example.
They are often really dark with eerie atmospheres and scenes of isolation which is why forests and abandoned places are often used as settings for this sub-genre. Adding on to that, the soundtrack that goes from high pitched violins to low pitched trumpets combined with the images creates immense tension within the audience. There are lots of dark filters and colours used, which further emphasizes the plot which is mainly about death.

Title order for high school and youth drama
Youth Drama; The order of titles in youth dramas often may be shorter compared to high school films because they may not have as high of a budget as a conglomerate since they are independent. We are firstly shown who produced and distributed the film, then the cast, directors and production team such as music, casting by and cinematography.
High School Drama: The order of a High School drama is usually lengthier than a Youth drama, because they are mainly made by conglomerate companies, which means bigger cast, production team and actors so there are more people that are needed to be credited. We are firstly shown who produced and distributed the film, then the cast, directors and production team such as music, casting by and cinematography.
The Sub-genres of Teen Drama Films
Teen Drama Films can be split into two categories:
High School Drama & Youth Drama
High School Drama: Got very popular during 70s/80s/90s. There were many variations within the genre itself. They tend to focus on changes, makeover and conflicts within groups at school. The teens and young adults often socialize in institutions such as School, home and college. The protagonist is often female but may focus on a male lead. Most High school dramas celebrate the idea of being young or youth as fun.
Youth Drama: Often troublesome teenagers going through difficult problems. The main character often tends to be rebellious and has conflict with other people. The focus is mainly on the trouble the main character faces and the difficulties of the adolescent experience with the protagonist often being the male. Most youth dramas seem to be a more authentic representation than high school dramas.

Teen drama sub genres
There are 2 sub genres of Teen Drama Films, these are:
High school
Youth Drama films.
High school is set in high schools and tend to be produced by conglomerate companies. this means they have a bigger budget with bigger casting. This conventionally covers the coming of age and usually have underlying story lines to do with romance. This usually has a bugger audience.
Youth Dramas however are usually set in more urban environments or at home. This is usually produced by independent companies and tends to cover my 'touchy' topics and also generally have a much smaller audience.
Mean girls and 10 things I about you are high school movies. My brother the devil and Beautiful thing are youth drama films. They all begin with the production company and list stars. However the high school films are much longer as they credit more people in comparison to youth draamas. High school opening sequences tend to be stylized also.

Survey on teens about film preferences
A target audience is an essential focus for film producers, a target audience is who producers try to aim their movie at. This affects the content of the film as well as how they market the film and the release date. For example a teen film will be released in the summer so their target audience (teenagers) are available to see it.
I think the audience for teen drama films are teenagers, as they can relate to the film, and older people, who will find it humorous as they were once teenagers, and also younger children as they aspire to be older like those in the film.
We created a survey to assess peoples favourite films which was distributed over social media. https://www.surveymonkey.com/create/?sm=T0KVrAnx3SUSvfVfML2_2B4z3c1Lq8EslW1Tp1oJKxg58_3D
We found that overall people preferred american movies set in high schools, We also found that females favourite teen drama had main themes of romance whereas males favourite films and main themes of violence and action. We found the main audience for teen dramas is people under 25, this may perhaps be because we used social media which is predominantly used by young people.

Genre and Teen Drama movies
Genre-
Genre is when a film follows a set of rules or conventions so they fit into a specific category. This helps consumers determine what kind of film the like and want to watch, and producers decide what kind of film they want to make.
A Teen Drama is a film mainly focused on teenagers and conventionally cover the 'coming of age.' They are often based in schools or urban environments, and other characters include parents, teachers or law enforcers.
Teen drama sequences tend to have independent owners. Youth dramas tend to have shorter title sequences as they have less people to credit due to it being an independent film, we saw this in the My Brother The Devil title sequence which was an independent film and quite a short opening sequence whereas high school movies tend to have longer credits due to it having a conglomerate ownership and more people to credit, we saw this in the Mean Girls opening sequence which was longer as they credited more people such as bug name stars such as Lindsey Lohan.
People are hired especially to create title sequences. Title sequences are very important for both independent and conglomerate institutes. They are the first impressions for the audience and can set the scene and allows the producer to put their stamp on the film. They are hired by independent companies or they may be part of a conglomerate.

What is Genre & Teen Drama Film
Genre: The type/category of a film. This is a useful keyword as it helps to group and organize films into different categories according to what they are about (Syntactic) and what they look like (Semantic). This is a key point to a film as it not only helps producers make their film, it also helps give insight as to who the producer wants to market their film to so the audience can decide what type of film they would like to see.
Teen Drama Film: A film that mainly focuses on teenagers and young adults. They mainly focus on the coming of age, the tough battles teenagers struggle through, their ups and downs, going through adolescence. You will often see feelings of romance, friendship, and is often plotted in school.
How may the title credits differ?
The title credits often differ based on the type of company the film is being made by.
For example, one film that we studied, Mean Girls, made by the very well-known multi-million production company Paramount, has a much lengthier title credit list than My Brother The Devil, another film we studied. The reason for this is because Mean Girls was produced by Paramount which is a conglomerate company, meaning they have grouped many companies together for an even bigger production so there would need to be a lot more people credited, whereas an independent company like the producers of My Brother The Devil, there wouldn't be as much of a budget for bigger cast and people to make the movie, meaning shorter credits.

Analysis of 2 Title Sequences
Too Many Cooks:
The title sequence style is moving image. Characters were introduced one by one with their name tags credited on them. It was accompanied by a catchy background music which repeated the title of the title sequence "Too Many Cooks", which really reinforces what they are trying to display. Moving image title sequences tend to use a lot of metaphors. For example, throughout the title sequence there was a killer on the loose which isn't common in family friendly shows, which could be seen as a metaphor as not everything in these family shows are as nice and sweet as they are presented.
Game Of Thrones:
The Game Of Thrones title sequence is also in the style of moving image. It is not only innovative but it also give an insight on what type of genre it is, as we are taken through a map which looks very historical and less modern. The text is similar to Times New Roman and the graphics are very bold but simple, giving it a very historical feeling.
